Industrial stormwater sampling is used to understand what leaves a facility during qualifying storm events. A good program connects the monitoring goal, sample location, rainfall trigger, discharge point, field procedure, and documentation.
What to plan before sampling

- Confirm sample locations are safe and representative.
- Prepare bottles, labels, field meters, and chain-of-custody forms.

Manual grab sampling may work for accessible outfalls. Automatic samplers can help where timing, safety, access, or composite sampling requirements make manual sampling difficult.
